About WorldMEN

WorldMEN is the international, multidisciplinary meeting for multiple endocrine neoplasia and other rare endocrine tumors.

Our History

The first Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia meeting took place in Canada in 1984. Its aim was to bring the scientific community, including the world’s leading MEN experts, into the search for the genes behind the MEN syndromes. A few years later, that effort led to the discovery of the RET and MEN1 genes.

Through continued collaboration and close discussion of the clinical questions that matter, the group’s work has produced widely cited papers, consensus statements and guidelines. The meeting’s scope has since grown to include other neuroendocrine tumors, whether sporadic or linked to other hereditary syndromes.
